Update, Rambling...

Over the past couple weeks I've had a lot on my plate personally so I'm just now really getting back on the computer (not by choice) and thought I've ramble a little.

Life seems to keep happening around me & slowing down process for the few goals & obligations I have right now but today I made some progress and it feels great. I've been working on a site for a long-time client for over 2 months now & had gotten really discouraged at the progress (or lack of) that I've been able to make because of all the little things that life throw at us. At any rate, after spending some time today on that I feel some relief.

My own site (donnafrench.net) I haven't been able to even TOUCH because of the life stuff going on. I'd been seriously considering getting a regular job & trying to work on the other in the meantime - but then after logically thinking that through (to the best of my ability LOL) I realized I don't have any spare time so that's out.

All in all - I've been stressing my a$$ off & today was the first day I've been able to let out any sigh of relief toward progress!!!

Just a personal ramble on this one so don't say I didn't warn you with the subject...

Share Your Spoon

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, '''Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'''

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple," said the Lord.

"It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you. Its estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title "7%".

I'm in the 7%

Remember that I will always share my spoon with you.

ADHD Awareness

National Attention Deficit Disorder Awareness Day is tomorrow, Sept. 19, 2007, and although I've never been diagnosed as having ADHD I can certainly relate to most of the symptoms so I read a lot of the material. My 9 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago & that's how I got started researching information online. At first my main concern was to find ideas to possibly help him but after a little reading I realized I could also benefit from most of the info too.

Here are some of the sources I've found so far:

Myspace

If you are under 30, or have kids, and want to be kept in the loop on what's going on - or just be able to have a conversation with your kid - I'd recommend getting an account on Myspace. We have 2 computers in the house - one that I use for building web sites for customers & another for the kids & personal stuff. My daughter will sit 20 feet from me on the other computer and ignore me for days as far as verbal conversation, but for an instant response I can send her a message thru Myspace.

The Aliens Have Landed

In Yahoo News yesterday there's a post about some mystery illness after a meteorite crashed in a Peruvian village. No...really....I'm serious...read it for yourself...

It's been a while...

There has been SO much happen this year that I don't even know where to start - much less end...

We moved away from "the farm" a couple months ago (finally) and made our new start about a half-hour South of Texarkana in another small town (a friendly one this time). The kids are adjusting well and Jeff & I have grown up a LOT over the past month or so (not by choice...LOL). He's laid up with a broken femur right now & I'm back to making a living doing web sites again.

It's a little odd being back online because for the past 7-8 months I hardly checked my email, much less built a web site or even looked at a line of code. Colton stays by my side almost 24/7 now & wants to learn how to write code (when he's not playing on his PSP or PS2). And Tana stays on the phone or on MySpace.com. She is in the 7th grade this year, and Colton in the 4th - and I'm freaking out (nothing unusual there...) because this all means I'm getting old (or I already am).

More later - old folks go to bed by 9pm (gladly...).

Well I see that there are still a lot of bored people checking my blog so I just wanted to say hi! I guess I could post some new pics or something - my computer at home crashed a little before Christmas but I've got it back up & running now. Until then, enjoy your daily blog checking...

Christmas Photos

Here are a few pictures I took with the new camera...

Let It Go

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains .....

LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth.....

LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents

LET IT GO!!!

If you! u have a bad attitude.......

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.......

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed ........

LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "take your hands off of it," then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for 2007!!!

LET IT GO!!!

Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then .

LET IT GO!!!

"The Battle is the Lord's!"

Amen.

Happy Holidays

Santa was pretty good to me this year - I got a new digital camera & photo printer, some new books, comfy socks, and all kinds of other goodies. Jeff and I got Tana an electric guitar & Colton a PSP, so now all we have to buy is headphones for them - or good earplugs for us. LOL

My computer here at home got fried by our good ole trusty (NOT) electric company. After about a dozen or so times of the electricity going off & on within a VERY short amount of time it laid down. So far I haven't had the urge to try to pull my photos, music & personal files to see if I can atleast salvage those. I'm sure I'll be ranting about that soon enough on here. For now I'm using an old Dell system that is fine for checking my email but that's it.

The new digital camera is a Kodak EasyShare C703 and so far I love it but I haven't had the opportunity to use the printer & dock yet. The photo quality seems great, as well as the speed compared to the old camera I've been using. The only accessory I'll be adding anytime soon is a memory stick so that I don't have to worry about filling up the internal memory of the camera.

So what did me & the rest of the world do for New Year's? I had an exciting night here at home until about 8 or 9pm then went & met some friends to ring in the new year & came home around 2am. Enough rambling for now, I'm going to try to get this computer setup so that I can download some of the pics from the holidays to share...
