It's the end of hump day, and I can surely tell that it's the beginning of the crazy holiday season. I didn't even have time to post on here yesterday, and don't really have much time now. About the only new & exciting thing I've got going on is I've started posting some items on eBay here at work. And as bad as I hate to admit it, I'm actually having a good time. eBay is the bomb! LMAO What a nerd!!! Have a groovy day and I'll post more later...

Monday Ramblings

It's been an interesting day so far - to say the least. I've received several phone calls from a lot of the people and know & consider a friend, but we just don't talk that often. And even one phone call from a lady I formerly bought insurance from, ended up talking with her for a while & have decided she's more of a friend than an insurance lady. Attempted to help a friend from the 12-Step program I am a part of with her Algebra - and just couldn't wrap my brain around it at lunch today. Going back after work to try again, then go to a meeting tonight. Work has been fairly laid back today and I've got things scoped out for most of the week as far as what I'll be doing. My side projects are wrapping up nicely and I've got some things working in my head to take their place. I guess I think I don't need the spare time - and it's probably true. Spare time usually gets the human race in more trouble than we want to dig ourselves out of. Did a little research on Buddhism today and joined some email groups to try & learn more about it. It seems to fit in very well with the 12-Step program I'm working. Guess I'll shut up for now, I seem to be rambling. This is my first post from the P4 system I built recently. I just hooked it up to the Internet connection today and downloaded all the MS security fixes and all that jazz. I've been reading thru some other blogs - which has become a new hobby of mine more/less. It's very interesting to me - getting to peek into other peoples' lives, see their photographs, read their daily entries. I guess I've always been a people-watcher of sorts. But since starting to work a Twelve Step program and study Buddhism and other religious beliefs I'm getting to know "me" and notice all the little things that make me tick. It's nice to finally get to know me - as wierd as that sounds - it's true.

Hump Day Blues

It's Wednesday night and I am already tired. This week has started to show signs of the busy holiday season to come. I've got side projects backed up and some days the extra cash just isn't worth the trade off on sleep I'm missing out on. Nothing too terribly exciting going on this week. I missed work yesterday to get a local biz's computer fixed for them. They've had a virus for over a week and by the time I could get there after work each day it was time for them to leave and go to an auction or something. Anyway, hell of a deal - I missed payday yesterday. LOL Gonna close for now, I'm tired...

Notes from the Weekend

I don't know why I have so much trouble figuring out the title to these damn posts. Guess I'll just start writing and then figure out the title after it's done? I didn't post all weekend - was too busy and really didn't slow down long enough to check my mail much less post in the blog. Friday night I went to two meetings and got a little time to myself in between. On Saturday, Jeff and I took the kids to the arcade, Chucke Cheese and a movie. As usual, you take them 40 places they want to go to 50 more. They both spent the night at my Mom's. She had some of our family from out of town so I stayed and got to visit some too. Then on Sunday we washed both vehicles and got them both shining & cleaned up to go at it for another week. That's my big exciting weekend, and now I'm back at work to get some rest once again.

Pentium 4 Lives

I did my first bit of work last night on the new P4 and it was wonderful. For those of you still torturing yourselves with an older system - here's the way it is supposed to work...you click a button, or start a program, and it happens THEN, not 5 minutes later after you've chewed your nails, made a fresh glass of tea, or if you're way behind - a fresh glass of whiskey because you can't bare to do anything on the POS without it. I'm planning to chain myself to the desk this weekend and finish atleast one of the two projects I've been working on - there are already 3 more piled up waiting on me that I refuse to touch until these are complete.

Green Grass From Home

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors. Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the little things that we take for granted. Hump Day

It's hump day folks! It's been a busy, scattered kind of day. Here are Lane's Gifts & Collectibles, where I work, we had someone from the Days of Our Lives soap call and order a doll we had in stock. They are going to use it in one of their episodes. Kinda cool I thought - just the fact that someone way out there in cyberspace from Days of Our Lives was even looking at our web site. Anyway, I've got to get my ass in gear and get two side projects completed so that I can get rolling on another one I just accepted. I'll post links as I get them done. One is a local jeweler that is adding a bridal registry, another is a program for a non-profit organization so they can run statistical reports, and the newbie is a new popcorn shop here locally. At home we just got another horse and two donkey's, so I've got to post pics of those for anybody that's lookin'. For now I'm gonna shut up and finish up here so I can run for the door at 5:30!

It's been one of those days where I have a million things enter my mind to do, see, say, etc. - stereo for Tahoe, new web site I plan to launch in Jan or Feb 2005, various other BS that I won't waste time writing about. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi on here and get out of here soon.

First Monday of the Week

Here we are - it's Monday - or at least the first Monday of this week. Last week I can recall two Monday's so we'll see how things go this week. My weekend consisted of having an extra kid, reloading Windows on both our home systems, and getting another horse & two donkey's. You do the math - I'm tired, back here at work to get some rest. I used to think people were just being silly when they'd say that. But now I know it's true. (LOL) That's just one of the few things I've started noticing here lately. I'm not sure if it's because I'll turn 30 my next birthday in January or what, but I'm definitely feeling differently about a lot of things. Life is strange.

Nerd Verification

Most of the time I don't really notice how big of a computer nerd I am. And then there are times like this when I want to talk about how I just made a 95% (19 of 20) on the HTML and SQL tests on W3 Schools. LMAO My next lesson is going to be in CSS, but for a little purely FYI info - I am currently studying for my Microsoft MCAD Certification. For those of you that don't keep up with the nerd stuff - that just means I've got a piece of paper saying I'm an official computer junkie. I'll shut up for now. Peace...

Shiny Black 'Hoe

I finally broke down yesterday and waxed the Tahoe, and damn she is lookin' good! LOL But really, a black Tahoe all waxed and shined up with no place to go. What a waste! We are stuck here at work but as you see - making the most of each day...LMAO. Nothing eventful going on here, just trying to get the juices flowing so I can get something productive accomplished today. For those of you that don't know, I work a twelve-step program and last night we had a different kind of meeting. It was in rememberance of a lady that passed on about two weeks ago. I'd never met her but after last night I feel as if I'd known her personally. Very touching and I'm sure she'd be pleased. Peace...

In God We Trust

Okay, so I was checking out a twenty dollar bill and realized the "In God We Trust" on it. What the hell is going on with that? They take it away from everything else and leave it on the freakin' money? Yeah, I know - it would cost a lot to drag in all those dollar bills and replace with new ones. So I'm wondering what the hell do "they" think it is costing to take God out of schools, public buildings, etc.?

It's Tuesday, the "real" first day of the week. I think Mondays are just to get everyone together and explain once again that we'll be having another week. I've been writing Cold Fusion code most of the day and right now I'm taking a break and installing the Windows XP Service Pack 2. That in itself should bring about an afternoon to remember if Microsoft holds up to even a fraction of its reputation. A friend of mine loaned me the new Nelly CD so I've gotta burn a copy of that before it's quittin' time. Other than that, nothing too interesting. I'm still trying to decide on a stereo system for the Tahoe. I think I'll go grab some pics of the system I'm thinking about and see if anybody give their 2 cents...

It's Monday - 'nuff said...

I'm at work, and from what I understand - we get paid to be here (physically) and they haven't taken a mental status inventory today so all is well. It's rainy and nasty here in the ArkLaTex today, so I'm wishing I was on a comfy couch with blanket, movie and some comfort food. But, since I've started this whole responsible adult & member of society thing - I came to work instead. Nothing too exciting here, although I must admit it was very nice to get to work dry and with my hair not looking wind blown. Ten points to the new 'Hoe (for those of you lost on the 'Hoe comment - read my other posts....I finally got a Tahoe!).

Goodbye Bike, Hello Tahoe

It has been a very interesting past few days since my last post. I've been looking for a new ride for a couple months now, and Friday I traded in my motorcycle and got a Chevy Tahoe. I felt like I was leaving one of my kids when I left the bike there, but I've wanted a Tahoe for several years - not to mention the fact it will be cold as hell soon and the bike ride wasn't sounding too pleasant for much longer. I'll post some pics of it soon. For now, I've gotta get some rest - too much cruisin' and socializing this weekend with the new ride...my ass is draggin' now. Until next time... Cold Fusion at its finest

Well, things are getting interesting. I've decided to go ahead and install 3 different versions of Macromedia Cold Fusion on my new box. I've been running Cold Fusion 5 for a long time, but they've came out with a new version called Cold Fusion MX now that I'm converting some of my old web sites and applications to. But recently I've started developing an application for a non-profit organization that has a limited budget and I was turned on to a new technology to run CF called Blue Dragon by New Atlanta. It's pretty cool, and a lot easier on the $$$ for clients that can't spend big bucks.

Frenchie gets a P4

Well folks, it's a big day in the nerd world for me. I finally got an Intel Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading. What the hell does that mean? It means I'll be able to cruise thru more web pages in a fraction of the time. Or, if you're a client I do web dev or programming for, it means I'll be able to finish your project in less time which = less money for you! I ordered the system a few days ago and finally got my hands on it today - opened the boxes and realized I didn't tell the wholesaler I wanted them to assemble it. So, I've spent the past few hours putting it together - it's been a while, but it's alive and running so I guess I haven't lost my touch!
